Important edition of this famous novel of the fat carpenter who becomes the victim of a practical joke of the architect Brunelleschi. The incident is supposed to have really happened in 1409, a first publication appeared in the year 1516. Here the Florentine scholar Domenico Manni (1690-1788) collects all available material from the archives and tries to reconstruct the story of the historic carpenter Manetto. - Only the title-page browned and soiled, otherwise rather clean and fine.
